If you haven’t heard of Etsy yet, you will soon!
What is Etsy?
Etsy is the world's most vibrant handmade marketplace. They connect consumers with independent creators and designers to find the very best in handmade goods, while providing these artists with the technology and information they need to start and grow their own businesses.
Etsy is a community that actively supports one another in the shared goal of offering alternatives to mass-produced objects. Etsy works to highlight the true value of handmade goods and their creators and encourage awareness of the social and environmental implications of production and consumption. Etsy to was created in 2005 with the vision of reconnecting maker and consumer, and swing the pendulum back to a time when we bought our bread from the baker, food from the farmer, and shoes from the cobbler.
WHO IS ETSY S.B.?
Etsy S.B. is a “locals only” team of crafters and artists who sell on Etsy and are located in the Santa Barbara area.
What is an Etsy Team? Etsy Teams are smaller groups of organized Etsy members who network, share skills, and promote their shops and Etsy together. A Team forms around a shared location, a medium, or another interest. Etsy's 150+ teams make Etsy not just a marketplace of individuals, but an interconnected and diverse handcrafters' community. Teams are Etsy’s biggest and most creative grassroots engine!
Etsy S.B. will be putting together a series of fun events as a team and helping promote each others arty crafty work in various creative ways. Etsy S.B. will be hosting a series of open studios, trunk shows, a blog, workshops, plus participating as a team in craft fairs, and doing many fun crafty things! Our first 2 events will be held in December and are themed Tea & Coffee. Etsy SB also has a Valentines event in the works for February 5th in Victoria Court.
TEA: OPEN STUDIO AT VOLADORA DESIGNS Dec 11th.
Voladora Design’s homey downtown studio is delighted to be the first Etsy S.B. Open Studio and will host a fun tea party and a trunk show from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday November 11th to kick off Etsy S.B.! Tasty holiday treats be available for the enjoyment of all! Voladora Designs is the featured artist and will be selling her amazing reclaimed fiber creations. In addition to Voladora, 7 Etsy sellers will be in on site with their handmade goods for sale (click on the links below to see their Etsy shops)
