Ecozuzu joins EtsySB!

Hello! My name is Josephine Tournier Ingram, I am the owner/designer of a Santa Barbara based earth-friendly graphic clothing line called ECOZUZU. With an eco-celebrity following, ecozuzu clothing is all about being cool, comfy and conscious. A sustainable brand that epitomizes beachy, laid back Santa Barbara.

I've been creating fine art since I was a little kid and love drawing, painting, collage, assemblage, printmaking, graphic art and design. I originally fell in love with designing graphics for apparel when I worked for Powell Skateboards and Surf One as a senior graphic designer. Soon after working there, I started creating my own graphic clothing as Christmas presents for my family and friends. To my surprise, people started asking me where they could buy my shirts, which led me to dream of creating a clothing boutique commited to preserving the environment. My dream became reality a few years ago with the launch of ecozuzu.

With the help of friends, family and buyers, Ecozuzu is a collaborative brand that is sold around the globe. We offer a range of eco-friendly men and women's surf style graphic clothing. We are also launching a new kids line for in spring/summer 2011! Look for our debut this spring at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art Museum Store where I will be a guest artist the evening of March 3rd, 2011.

We offer apparel and accessories that are made out of 100% certified organic cotton. We also offer apparel made out of recycled materials such as disposable food containers, soft drinks and water bottles! Our eco-apparel is made from low impact dyes. Our high quality fabrics are super soft and comfortable! The graphics are also silkscreen printed using 'green' printing methods with non-toxic water-based earth friendly inks. All of our tags are also printed on 100% recycled paper with eco-friendly soy inks. Even our gift packaging is made from local recycled materials.

From the big picture to the small details, we run our entire business as environmentally conscious as possible. Together we can make a difference!

Hummingbird Cake Stationery Bio

Hello! My name is Chelsea and I am the owner and founder of Hummingbird Cake Stationery, founded in the Spring of 2009. The company was started after I spent hours and hours looking through countless catalogs and websites offering thousands of different wedding invitations and other stationery goods when planning for my wedding, but I was having trouble finding any that I could both afford and fall in love with.

That challenge of finding something both beautiful and budget-friendly led me to start my own company with the number one priority to provide exceptional service and stationery at accessible prices. You can count on us to communicate with you in a timely manner, work with you on creating a personalized product to suit your needs and not skimp on dedicating time to your order.

For those who are asking "what's a hummingbird cake?" - the name of the company comes from another beloved hobby of mine - baking! Many people have never heard of a hummingbird cake, which is a Southern traditional cake, sort of like a carrot cake but with bananas, pineapple and pecans, with a cream cheese frosting. Check out a recipe here!

Being fairly new to etsy, I am excited to be a part of this group of talented people and look forward to getting to know all of you and participating in events with you! I am working on expanding my line to include greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries and other life events, so look for those at upcoming shows!

AyaPapaya ~ Feather, Leather, and Lace

Hello, my name is Aya Iwasaki and my etsy store is AyaPapaya. I've been creating, wearing, and sharing my feather adornments for just over a year. I started making feather earrings because I wanted a pair for myself. I bought a lot of feathers, some wire, and hooks and experimented. The first pair that I ever made is the x3 tiered feather earrings
featured in my shop. They were a hit amongst my friends, and several of my friends commissioned me to make pairs for them. From there, I started playing with different styles and fell in love with feathers! In the last year I developed my business, and now have over 20 styles of earrings, hair pieces, and adornments. I use all natural feathers, no synthetic or dyes, because natural feathers are so beautiful that I want to display them as they are. In the last few months I've been working with leather as well, and plan on incorporating more leather work into my pieces.
I love hand-making unique pieces that make the wearer feel beautiful. It is so precious to be vending and to watch someones face light up when they put on a pair of earrings, or a hair piece. There is so much beauty locked up inside of the people around us, it is my aim to draw out natural beauty by adorning them with art.

New to AyaPapaya ~ Feather Hair Extensions

Bored with your hair? Try highlighting your hair with natural feathers! They are semi permanent extensions lasting up to 3 months. Wash, blow dry, flat iron, straighten, or curl along with the rest of your hair. Call Aya for personal appointments or ask about feather parties at 805 453 8060.

BOHEMIAN BOMBSHELL

Hi! My name is Madeline, I'm the founder and Creator of Bohemian Bombshell. I was born and raised on the Southern coast of California, and recently graduated from UCSB. The idea behind Bohemian Bombshell is simple. To live life according to yourself, and yet to accept and interact willingly with the lifestyles of those who have chosen to live according to themselves. To believe that difference is what defines us, that diversity is not an obstacle, but a gift. That we can learn from each other, and accept each other and ourselves, for who and what we really are and not what we’re expected or told to be. Every Work of Art created by Bohemian Bombshell was created in it’s own moment, not copied from a blueprint. It grew out of friendship, community, expression, enthusiasm, discovery, and generosity.
The Bohemian Bombshell♥ La Bohème beauté
One that is sensationally shocking, surprising, and confident. Who lives and acts free of regard for conventional rules and practices. Who seeks days of inspiration, embraces differences, and understands acceptance. Who lives according to themselves. The late great daughters of mother earth. Living a life they have chosen. Who makes something out of nothing. Who goes against the grain. One who may seem unconventional in appearance and behavior, but is simultaneously an utterly gorgeous and exotically beautiful woman. Viva La Vie Boheme! ♥

I am so proud to be a part of this amazing group, Etsy SB! Bohemian Bombshell creates handmade pieces of jewelry for your hair, each one as unique and different as the bombshell that wears it. Inspired by the eclectic style of the Southern California beach girl, Bohemia bands are buzzing with the energy of styles from every decade. With hundreds of ways to wear them, the possibilities of originality are endless. Every girl has a unique twinkle that makes her…HER…this band is not an accessory but rather an expression of individuality. Embrace Difference. Be You.♥

Hair Bows by Robin

I'd like to tell you a little about myself and my shop, Hair Bows by Robin.

My name is Robin Hinck and I am a mother to an almost-five-year-old daughter, Anna. Since Anna was a baby, I have loved putting bows in her hair -- in fact, it was a necessity to keep those locks out of her eyes. After spending too much money on bows that would just slide out of her hair anyways, I was blessed with a friend who made Anna some bows for free. Inspired by my friend's creativity, I began making my own bows. At first I made them for free for friends and family, but after several pushes from friends to start selling them, I made the plunge and set up an Etsy shop.

My bows come with a no-slip grip made out of velcro that prevent the bows from slipping in even the finest of hair. They are fully lined, and are made on steel alligator clips, which also offer a stronger hold than traditional clips. Each bow comes professionally packaged on a bow card. My hair bows and clips make great gifts for girls of all ages. Bows are sold in pairs and start as low as $3.00 a pair. Please take a look at my shop and feel free to ask me any questions. I love to make custom orders!

Etsy SB Team Member: GirlSunday

Can we talk about me for a while?

I'm the person behind GirlSunday Designs. I started making reusable snackbags when I sent my now 4 year old daughter to pre-school. I would use 2 or 3 zippy bags a day and after several washings of them or rather me just being lazy, I would throw them out. I was feeling guilty about all the waste and thought there's got to be a better way.

About the same time, I started sewing. I new I could sew straight lines and thought I should try and make some sort of reusable something to put my daughter's snacks in. I cruised through the internet and saw a few things I liked. I made several prototypes and finally fabbed up something that I was happy with.

I started using them, and gave some to some friends. They told 2 friends and they told 2 friends and before I knew it, I had a small business happening. I started my Etsy shop soon after.

The name GirlSunday came from my mom's maiden name Domingo, which means Sunday in Spanish. A little play on words and a homage to my mom and grandmother, both of whom were business women and paved the way for me.

Etsy is a great experience. I'm looking forward to building our team and showing SB there's a new kind of homemade in town.
